Faculty-Mentored Undergraduate Research Award Program (FURAP) scholarships are granted by The Research Council of Oman (TRC) through higher education institutes, colleges and universities in Oman.
The FURAP scholarships are designed for undergraduate students studying at local colleges and universities who wish to conduct research either on campus or at other research sites within the Sultanate of Oman during their undergraduate education [1].
Two engineering projects were selected for the categories - Environment and Bio Resources, Industry and Energy, Health and Social Development.

These projects were ranked by the Institutional Proposal Evaluation (IPE) committee and submitted through the FURAP Electronics System on The Research Council website. The IPE committee has allocated a budget for each project ranging from 900 OMR up to 2200 OMR.
The Sultanate of Oman, through The Research Council (TRC) has provided incentives for the young Omanis to pursue their creativity for advance research work. The Engineering Department is very fortunate to have faculty mentors who will guide our students in their research.
