The purpose of the program was to provide input on utilization of technology to deliver high quality student centered learning. The speakers highlighted on four important online study tools (Quizlet, Polleverywhere, Explain everything, Nearpod) which may help to make learning easier, effective and enjoyable for teachers and students.
The speakers discussed how learning can be made more interesting by using different study modes in Quizlet and to have live games for interactive sessions with students. While discussing on Poll everywhere, they focused on how to use poll everywhere inside the slides and how to add different activities in the same PPT to ensure student centered learning.
Another tool conversed by the speakers was Explain everything which is an interactive whiteboard platform where teachers/students can collaborate, share and teach/learn without boundaries. They highlighted the ability of this tool to record visuals, audio while presenting and sharing ideas.
Finally, the session was concluded by enlightening with the tool Nearpod which has the special features like creating interactive lessons in minutes, synchronizing and controlling lessons across all student devices and evaluating student responses live and with a post session report.
The speakers conducted practical activities throughout the session to get the attendees acquainted with the use of online study tools. The speakers opined that by embracing and integrating technology in the classroom, we can prepare students for a successful life outside of college. The session as a whole was very interesting and the response from the participants was overwhelming. The session concluded with vote of thanks by Mr. Joshi.
