Freshmen students of the Department of Business Studies were officially welcomed to the department through an Induction Program held on February 4th 2020 at BS112 by Dr. Habiba Mohammed Said Al-Mughairi, HOD of the department.
She discussed the college Motto, Vision, Mission, Values, Graduate Attributes, Department Organizational chart and the various academic programs and specialization of the department. The importance of adherence to the rules and regulations of ICT was a major takeaway from her talk.
A series of talk was lined up for the new students orchestrated by the department’s staff. Dr. Issa Saleh Hamood Al Amri talked about the various supports available to the students from Student Affairs. He encouraged students to regularly meet their respective advisors for academic counseling. Mr. Abdullah Thanseer, Department Registrar, explained the registration process, academic probation, Grade Point Average, Cumulative Grade Point Average calculation and requirements to move to next level and complete their studies successfully in the department. Ms. Sumaiah Al Balushi spoke about the Business society and its activities.
She also requested the students to enroll themselves in the society for enhancing their extracurricular activities. Mr. Hamood Khalfan Hamood Al Azri from Educational Technology Center explained the role of Entrepreneurship Unit and Student Support System. He also enlightened the students about using the various services in the student portal at college website. Mr. Ali O P explained the about the Risk Management System at college while Mr. Nawaz Khan enlightened the students about the Health and Safety system and emergency evacuation plan in the college.
The students gained valuable inputs which will definitely go a long way in helping them achieve their academic goals and objectives.
