The 6th IET GCC Robotics Challenge is an annual robotics challenge that aims to encourage undergraduate students and young professionals across the GCC to build innovative robotics systems.
This year’s virtual challenge theme is on robotics-based solutions/systems to battle against COVID-19. This event is sponsored by the IET, The Institute of Engineering and Technology, and IET Robotics and Mechatronics PN.
The IEEE Ibra Student Branch registered three teams and represented UTAS Ibra in the said competition. All teams are under the supervision of their mentors – Dr. Jamaludeen Abdul Shariff, Dr. Gopikrishna Pasma, Mr. Donnie Solano, and Mr. Jaber Amer Mohammad Al-Hajri.
Each team submitted PowerPoint and video presentations before the final selection. Then, the teams presented their ideas in a final presentation which was held last March 26, 2022, at 9:00 AM, Saudi Time. The participants were given twenty-five minutes to discuss their innovations including Q/A.
After the presentation, the organizing committee sent a confirmation that the three teams from UTAS- Ibra got selected, and the announcement of the final results will take place three weeks after the selection.
