To enhance practical exposure, the students of the UTAS-Ibra, College of Economics and Business Administration visited the Central Bank of Oman on December 19, 2022 with the aim of understanding the components of the Oman’s financial system.

The authorities explained the functions of specialized government banks, financial institutions and leasing companies. The importance of banking and financial needs at the Central Bank of Oman, liquidity management and methods of monitoring financial and banking performance were discussed by the authorities. The students were also enlightened on cash currencies, encrypted digital currencies and methods of currency governance.

Later the students visited the Monetary Museum of the Central Bank of Oman, where they learned about the various currencies across the world and the history of currency system in Oman.
