On the 22nd of December 2022, the Staff Development Committee (SDC) under the Engineering Department (UTAS, Ibra) in collaboration with Mazoon Electric Company (MZEC) have successfully organized the workshop entitled “Most Recent Technologies in Network Expansion at MZEC”.

The event was spearheaded by the SDC committee co-chair, Dr. Moola Prathapa Raju.

The resource persons for the seminar were Engr. Vivek Kumar Srivastava, Engr. Mundher Al Naabi, Engr. Husam Al Naamani, Engr. Mustafa Al Sharji and Engr. Laith Al Yahmedi MZEC Oman.

This event aimed to promote awareness by sharing the knowledge of the latest technologies used in MZEC network for its expansion through Project Management. All of the speaker shared their experiences with enthusiasm. The session started with introductory address by Engr. Vivek Kumar Srivastava followed by other members of the team. Each speaker delivered variety of topics based on their field of work, as Engr. Mundher Al Naabi discussed on RMU SF6, Engr. Husam Al Naamani expounded on the technology regarding Pre-Moulded Cable Termination and Joint, Engr. Mustafa Al Sharji explained their most recent technologies on Smart Meter. At the end Engr. Vivek Kumar Srivastava elaborated the latest AB Switches used nowadays mentioning its advantages. The session was very informative and the audience benefited a lot.

Finally vote of thanks was presented by Dr. Shamganth, HoS Electrical, Engineering Department followed by giving of mementos and certificate of appreciation to the speakers in honour of their valuable time.
