Health, Safety and Environment Committee have conducted a workshop on Electrical Hazards and precautions for H & S Team members, UTAS-HSEC Coordinators and Team Members and Health, Safety Environment Course students.
The event was held on 7th March 2023, from 12:30PM-1:30PM at Electrical Skills Laboratory (NL105).
Mr. Vineeth V V, Coordinator, EDHSEC welcomed all the participants and has given a brief introduction on the workshop. Mr. Bhanu Kiran, also a member of the committee, has explained about different types of Electrical hazards such as electric shock and burns from contact with live parts, injury from exposure to arcing, fire from faulty electrical equipment or installations etc. He has demonstrated the operation of different protection devices used in the electrical circuit to protect the equipment from short circuit and save the operating people from the electrical shock.
All the participants tested the various protection devices used in the electrical circuit to demonstrate electrical safety.
